and the darkness of Tartas


Pitch :
Play as a mighty knight battling hordes of enemies with your bow and sword !
There's just one problem: you're afraid of the dark...
So you'll need to find light to empower yourself and reach the next zone through the night.
Game concept :
The game is a roguelike divided into two parts:

The hub, where you can spend resources to upgrade your equipment or unlock access to new zones (nine in total).

The zones, where the player faces hordes of monsters that become increasingly stronger each time.

Conception

Idealisation :
The main challenge we encountered during the game's creation was the scope.
We had to simplify and automate many mechanics to ensure the project was functional and enjoyable by the end of the week.
Balancing :
Many statistics had to be considered during the project.
First, I had to handle the combat balancing so that players would understand the importance of staying in the light to fight and make thoughtful choices when upgrading their equipment.
Then, since the game is infinite, it was crucial to manage the difficulty scaling to ensure the experience remained challenging.
